Valerie Cordell

Valerie (Valdes) Cordell was born and raised in Tampa and currently lives in Madeira Beach. She attended the Academyof the Holy Names and graduated college from the University of Florida with a degree in Elementary Education with aspecialty in Early Childhood Education. She taught third grade at Tinker Elementary for one year and Kindergarten atMitchell Elementary for five years. Mrs. Mudry and Mrs. Cordell taught kindergarten at Mitchell together and are veryexcited to once again be working on the same campus at The Branch Academy. Valerie met her husband, Ian Cordell, atthe University of Florida and they have two daughters. Alexa Cordell attended Mitchell Elementary, Berkeley Preparatoryand Vanderbilt University. She graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and currently works in Boston at GEAviation. Anna Cordell attended Mitchell Elementary and was a student in PreK with Mrs. Popp! She graduated fromBerkeley Preparatory and is currently a sophomore at NYU. In 2007, Ian and Valerie bought Jackie’s Dance Studio wheretheir daughters had been dancing for years. Valerie was also involved with Engage 364, a program that helped 7th and8th graders in math at St. Peter Claver Catholic School. At the beginning of 2020, Valerie became a Guardian Ad Litem,a representative in the courts that gives a voice to a child that has been abused, neglected, or abandoned. Mrs. Cordell isthrilled to be back in the classroom and to be part of The Branch Academy family.
