Merridith Callahan

Mrs. Callahan was born and raised in Tampa Florida. She attended Corpus Christi Catholic school (K-8) in Temple Terraceand Berkeley Preparatory (9-12). Mrs Callahan graduated with her bachelors in Family, Youth and Community Science fromthe University of Florida and her masters in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. She has spent elevenyears teaching elementary school. She taught third grade for eight years at Roosevelt Elementary before staying home tospend time with her own children. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Tampa and worked as anintern supervisor helping to support new teachers in their internships in Hillsborough County Public schools. As her boysstarted Mitchell Elementary, she found herself in different supportive roles (tutoring/ long term substituting) and thenofficially found her way back into the classroom teaching second grade for three years. Mrs. Callahan loves spending timewith her two boys Henry (13) and Murphy (10) (both Branch Academy graduates). Henry is currently in 7th grade at WilsonMiddle School and Murphy is a 5th grader at Mitchell. Mrs. Callahan has been married to Scott (a proud Mitchell, Wilson,Plant graduate) for eighteen years. Her free time is spent with her large extended family, watching Gator football, anddoing anything outdoors. She is thrilled to be back at Branch Academy, this time as a teacher.
